WEDI is proud to support the second-annual Telehealth Awareness Week presented by the American Telemedicine Association! Telehealth continues to play a critical role in supporting access to safe, quality healthcare services for diverse communities of patients and providers. Taking place September 18-24, 2022, Telehealth Awareness Week will highlight the value of telehealth in a hybrid care model that includes in-person and virtual care.

About the Spotlight:

Under the current constraints of social distancing, closings, and further efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Telehealth is rapidly becoming more mainstream and will likely impact the way in which many physicians practice medicine going forward. We invite you to attend our virtual spotlight as we shine a light on the value of telehealth for various populations, the constant evolution of telehealth initiatives and what does the future hold as it relates to telehealth reimbursement and policy once the PHE ends. This spotlight is hosted by WEDI's Telehealth Workgroup Co-Chairs, Nancy Spector, Coding and HIT Advocacy Director with the American Medical Association and Jill Dominic, Health Policy Director with Elevance Health.

Thrilled to welcome back Dr. James Stallcup, Enterprise CMIO and Medical Director for Wilma P. Mankiller Health Center at Cherokee Nation. A fan of theater, rock and roll and pro wrestling, learn how Dr. Stallcup used his infectious personality along with his understanding of people and technology to build up a telehealth program with a minimal budget. We look forward to having Dr Stallcup's insight on how the Cherokee Nation embraced telehealth and how has he integrated it into his hospital's operations.

Pleased to have Kyle Zebley, Vice President of Public Policy at the American Telemedicine Association join us for our spotlight. Kyle works with and on behalf of ATA members and like-minded organizations to eliminate barriers to the expansion of telehealth and ensure patients, providers, and payers can realize the benefits of virtual care. Previously, Zebley was the chief of staff in the Office of Global Affairs at the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). He collaborated with senior leadership from HHS, the White House, and other cabinet departments to develop, advise, and promote US global health policy, including in such policy areas as drug pricing, global health security, and noncommunicable diseases
